Ajay Devgan born to a Punjab Family has turned 43 today (2nd April). His thousands of fans across the country are sending him wishes on the occasion.

As his father Veeru Devgan was a stunt choreographer, Ajay did various action flicks and was also praised for his thrilling stunts. He made his entry in Bollywood with “Phool aur Kaante” in 1991, turning out to be the highest grosser of that year. He won Filmfare Award for the best Debutant for his outstanding performance in the film.

Ajay Devgan was considered as an action superstar at first, as his films since 1992 namely Jigar, Ek Hi Raasta, Dilwaale, Suhaag, and Vijay Path were all of the Action-genre and did good business on box office. The hard work did applaud the actor, as in 1995 for Mahesh Bhatt’s “Najayaz he stood out among the best Actors nominated at the Filmfare event.

The next year he got another Box-office hit in the name of Diljale. Ajay in 1997 for the first time signed assignment to work in a comedy film “Ishq”. In 1998, opposite Amitabh Bachachan, the Actor’s performance in “Major Saab” was highly praised and in the same year “Pyar To Hona Hi Tha” turned out to be the biggest hit.

Working back in Mahesh Bhatt’s camp for “Zakhm” commended Ajay with numerous Awards, including the coveted National Film Award and Star Screen Award for the Best Actor. In 1999, ‘Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam’ once again brought him into the queue of Best Actors nomination of Filmfare.

The two major hits in 2002 gave Ajay a different identity. In RGV’s “Company” Ajay performed as an underworld mafia, claiming his second Star Screen Award. Essaying the role of a freedom fighter “Bhagat Singh” could never be an easy task. He couldn’t ask for more as he was honored with National Award for the best Actor.

Ajay Devgan is also the favourite lead Actor of Prakash Jha who targets the political-genre stories and Rohit Shetty dealing with comedy and Action flicks. Prakash Jha with Ajay produced numerous box office hits namely ‘Gangajal’, ‘Apaharan’ and ‘Rajneeti’. The Actor delivered the same results with Rohit Shetty’s three installment of ‘Golmaal’ alongwith “Singham”.
